Dress Code: It's about Respect and your Future

Dressing Right is a Show of Respect

When you go to the effort and expense of putting together a professional wardrobe and pay attention to your personal appearance, it shows that you take your work and your colleagues seriously. This invites a positive reflection on you. People who are treated with respect generally return that respect, and, as we all know, those in the workplace who command the most respect very often end up in leadership.

Not a bad return for your small investment of time and money.

Dress for Where You're Going, Not Where You Are

So much of dressing for success has to do with "state of mind." It's about how you think and feel about yourself and (let's be honest) manipulating how others do the same. Help them see you as someone who's clearly on the move, ready for new and broader responsibilities.

Clearly, you can't do this with dress alone, but stellar on-the-job performance combined with a winning professional style positively invites opportunity and success.
